The aim of this document is to assist you with ASPLinux downloading and introduce the stuff available for download. It describes ASPLinux ftp server structure and contains download recommendations. 2. /pub STRUCTURE /pub derectory contains following four directories: /aspcomplete, /i386, /ppc, /sources. /i386 directory contains the tree with all the necessary ASPLinux for Intel platform files and source codes available for download. Enter it if you wish to download ASPLinux for Intel platform. See also /i386 directory structure. /ppc directory contains the tree with all the necessary ASPLinux for PPC platform files and source codes available for download.Enter it if you wish to download ASPLinux for PPC platform. See also /ppc directory structure. /sources directory contains srpm's for all the ASPLinux packages. In every directory you will find md5sums file which contains control sums for corresponding package. 3. /i386 STRUCTURE /i386 directory contains ASPLinux Intel edition CD-ROM image, rpm's and srpm's for several latest snapshots and some useful utilities which may be necessary to prepare for ASPLinux installation. /espresso directory contains Windows utility EspressoDownload which is managing smart ASPLinux download. Please find more about EspressoDownload at http://www.asp-linux.com/en/install/spr.shtml To start ASPLinux installation with EspressoDownload you need to download ASPLinuxInstall.exe file and run it under Windows. Supported Windows versions: 95,98, NT 4.0, 2000. /linuxutils contains dd utility which may be used for ASPLinux bootable diskette image transfer to diskette. /RPMS.MMDDYY directories contain all the packages included in corresponding ASPLinux snapshot. Enter it if you wish to download some packages for upgrade etc. MMDDYY means the date of corresponding snapshot release. /snapshotMMDDYY directories contain CD-ROM image of corresponding ASPLinux snapshot (asplinux.img). To install ASPLinux you should download ASPLinux CD-ROM image and transfer it on CD-ROM or create a bootable diskette and start ASPLinux installation from this diskette.
